Rocky Mountain NHS inducts nine members
The Rocky Mountain High School National Honor Society inducted nine new members during a special ceremony on Monday, April 29, at the school gym in Cowley.
Inducted into the RMHS chapter were juniors Nathan Clendenen, Branton Moore, Elliahna Scheeler and Shelby Wambeke and sophomores Emma Collins, William Fuller, Layla Gardner, Triffen Jolley and Landon Pruett.
“One cool and unique thing about our chapter is that we have the new inductees sign a book that has been used since 1983-1984, which was the very first year of Rocky Mountain High School,” RMHS sponsor Geranne Rassmussen said. “Pat Davis started the tradition, and so everyone who has ever been inducted into the Rocky Mountain Chapter of National Honor Society has signed their name in this same book for the past 40 years.”
Rasmussen said the new chapter officers are junior Hayden Wambeke, president; junior Rebecca Herren, vice president; Clendenen, secretary; and Scheeler, treasurer.
