Roger Alan Salzman
Roger Alan Salzman
Dec. 27, 1958 – Nov. 17, 2021
Roger Alan Salzman, also known by his friends as The Cat Man, died November 17, 2021, in Billings after a valiant fight with COVID-19.
Anyone who knew Roger knew he couldn’t pass up a sale, so we can only assume that tickets to heaven were largely discounted, and he had to get one. Who knew that he would use it so soon?
Roger loved his “perfect little people in fur coats,” spending time with his friends (who were his family) and collecting magic cards.
In his life he wore many hats, including sergeant in the Marine Corps, corrections officer and college student, but to his friends he was a shoulder to cry on, a rock when things were troubled, a ready smile and a welcoming set of arms to hold you when you needed them. Always quick to smile and tease, he would often call himself “a lovable a-hole.”
He is survived by his fur babies, Cammie, Missy, Pooh Butt and Frosty, as well as those who loved him, McKinzie Newman, Paul and Kim Kost and Anthony Seaman.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021, at 10 a.m. at Haskell Funeral Home in Lovell. Interment of cremains with military honors follows the service at the Lovell Cemetery.
