Runners flock to Dauntless Dash on mild morning

A relatively balmy morning led to a huge turnout at the Dauntless Dash fun run, sponsored by Club Dauntless, on Saturday morning.

The kickoff event of the annual Main Street Mingle, this year’s race drew some 120 runners, about 80 adults and 40 kids, according to co-organizer Haley Sorenson.

Jacob Thomas won the 5K in a time of 18:12, with Daniel Zeller second in 19:26 and Caleb Sanders third at 20:47. The top female runner was Caylee Herman in 23:07, followed by Katie Griffin in 24:02 and Serena Hessenthaler in 24:20.

Boston Wilson won the mile in a time of 8:50, followed by Janelle Hessenthaler in 8:45, Nellie Guccion in 9:06, Grayson Walker in 9:19, Hadlie Nicholls in 9:32 and Weston Hendershot in 10:52.
