Dog kills neighbor’s chickens in Byron
The Big Horn County Sheriff’s Department received the following calls for the week of February 19 to February 25:
February 19: 2:27 p.m.- A report of 4 or 5 cows out on the road occurred on Lovell Lakes Road near Lovell. By the time the dispatcher contacted the suspected owner of the cows, they were already being put back on their property.
4:55 p.m.- Larceny was reported by a Byron resident. The dispute is part of proceedings regarding who owns the car in a pending divorce.
February 20: 2:15 p.m.- A motorcycle was reported to be speeding through Frannie. The caller said the male motorcyclist pulled into their residence. An officer attempted to contact the motorcyclist at the residence, but the resident did not answer the door.
6:06 p.m.- A caller in Byron reported that their power was out and asked for more information regarding if there was a power outage in the area. Contact was made with the power company, and the company said they would restore power to the residence within 30 minutes.
February 22: 1:25 p.m. - A controlled burn that was reported to no longer be controlled was on Highway 14A East near Lovell. The call was rolled to the Lovell Police Department, who dispatched Lovell Fire Department and ambulance.
February 23: 12:39 p.m.- A Byron resident’s dog attacked their neighbor’s chickens, with either one or two chickens dying. An officer responded, and the dog owner agreed to compensate the neighbor for the chicken attack.
February 24: 11:27 a.m.- At Maverik, a report of a disorderly driver with a two-tone yellow and white flatbed truck was called in. A multi-agency response was dispatched, but the vehicle was unable to be located.
9:25 p.m.- A Lovell resident, Alex Santillan, was booked for charges of youthful driver with detectable alcohol, lacking compulsory auto insurance and speeding in a 70 mile per hour zone.
February 25: 9:28 a.m.- A possible theft is under investigation as an ongoing civil dispute between family members.
