Sheriff’s Report: Airport bomb threat found to be hoax

The Big Horn County Sheriff’s Department received the following calls for the week of December 18 to December 24:
December 18: 2:39 p.m. – A vehicle stopped in the roadway on Great Western Avenue was not in any trouble. The driver was simply playing Pokemon Go.
4:40 p.m. – A citizen came to the Annex requesting that a vehicle be trespassed from the reporting party’s property in the Lovell area.
December 19: 11:48 a.m. – A bomb threat was received at the North Big Horn County Airport north of Cowley. The threat, made nationwide similar to threats called in to schools and also received at the South Big Horn County Airport at Greybull, was determined to not be credible, but a deputy responded to the airport to search the grounds and secure the facility.
1:59 p.m. – A caller with a flat tire on U.S. Highway 310 and Lane 13 requested help fixing the tire. A deputy called Mayes Brothers, who agreed to assist.
3:42 p.m. – A deputy assisted with changing a flat tire on U.S. 310 near Deaver.
4:32 p.m. – A person who had been hospitalized for a month returned to his residence in Byron and requested help getting into his home, which he received from deputies.
11:07 p.m. – A caller on Riverview Avenue in Byron reported that an ex-sister-in-law was outside “yelling and screaming” and may have broken a window. A deputy responded, and the person left the scene.
December 20: 2:42 p.m. – An abandoned vehicle was reported at mile marker 119 on Highway 32 near Lovell. Contact was made with the owner, who was said to be making arrangements to move the vehicle soon.
4:40 p.m. – Cows were reported loose on the east side of U.S. Highway 310 south of Lovell.
December 21: 10:27 a.m. – A caller reported that someone had thrown a brick through their kitchen window on Lane 13 when the occupants were away. The incident is under investigation.
2:25 p.m. – A caller reported that her neighbor’s cows were on her property and that her house was surrounded by black cows. The neighbor retrieved the cows.
3:24 p.m. – A man on North Second East in Cowley reported that someone had broken into his home and assaulted him but that he did not need an ambulance. A deputy responded and found no evidence of a break-in nor a suspect on scene.
December 22: 6:51 a.m. – More black cows were reported in the road at Road 11 and Lane 13 near Lovell. The owner took care of the loose cows.
3:17 p.m. – A driver reported that she had struck a railroad crossing sign on Highway 310 in Deaver and that the sign was tipped over. Burlington Northern-Santa Fe Railroad was contacted and said they would respond to repair the sign.
9:52 p.m. – A caller reported that kids were creating a ruckus at the park in Cowley. A deputy responded, and the kids had left the park.
December 24: 9:27 p.m. – A caller reported suspicious activity seen on a trail camera on his property on Highway 32. A deputy responded, checked the camera and walked the property but found no tracks in the snow.
Note: The calls listed above were received by the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Department. Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney.
