Sheriff’s report Citizens on Road 11 fed up with speeders

The Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office received the following calls for the week of March 18-24:
March 18: A deputy cleared pieces of metal that were creating a hazard on Highway 310 near Lovell.
Deputies were notified by a property owner in Deaver that an aggressive dog was shot on his property after it charged him and harassed his wife and children.
Upon investigating a report of an abandoned vehicle near the Kane Cemetery, deputies found that it had been parked there by individuals who were fishing nearby.
Deputies responded to a report of stolen auto parts on Highway 32 near Lovell. Unfortunately, the reporting party was unable to describe the parts taken or facts regarding the theft, like who may have taken them or what kind of vehicle transported them.
March 19: A deputy attended a regular monthly neighborhood watch meeting held in Byron.
March 20: Deputies conducted a routine building check of a business in Cowley.
A motorist needing help re-tying a load on his vehicle was assisted by a deputy on Highway 310 near Lovell.
March 21: A property owner in Byron complained of a loose dog continually returning to her property. The dog’s owner was notified and was issued a dog-at-large warning.
Deputies received a report of a vehicle stuck on Crooked Creek Road. The North Big Horn Search and Rescue team helped the motorist free the vehicle. No injuries were reported.
March 22: Sheriff’s deputies responded to an ongoing dispute between a divorcing couple but determined it was a civil matter.
After a juvenile drove a vehicle numerous times down an alley in Byron with its lights off, deputies determined he was harassing a friend and warned him to stop the behavior.
March 23: After receiving complaints from citizens on Road 11 outside of Lovell about speeding vehicles, deputies have stepped up patrol in that area.
Deputies investigated a report of smoke coming from under the Shoshone River Bridge on Highway 310 near Lovell. It turned out that two juveniles who were fishing under the bridge had built a campfire.
Note: The above calls were received by the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office. Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney.
