Sheriff’s report: Kids on noisy dirt bikes in Deaver asked to ride elsewhere

The Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office received the following calls for the week of May 6-12:

May 6: Deputies received a complaint from a property owner on Road 15 near Lovell that a gated pipe was burned on their property without permission. The matter is under investigation.

May 7: A person trying to contact an individual living on Lane 10 near Lovell expressed concern that they could not reach the person by phone. The person was found to be OK during a welfare check and said their phone was out of order.

May 9: Deputies assisted a driver after his semi-truck jack-knifed on Highway 14A, blocking two lanes of travel. No injuries were reported.

After receiving a report of someone being drunk and abusive, deputies investigated a residence in Byron. Alexander Lawrence Gaisford of Powell was arrested and charged with domestic violence causing bodily injury to a household member.

May 10: Deputies responded to a call about two brothers embroiled in a domestic argument in Cowley. By the time they arrived, one of the brothers had left the scene.

A report of a male walking down the middle of Highway 310 brought deputies to the scene, where they found a man waiting on the side of the road for his girlfriend to pick him up.

May 11: A truck rollover on Highway 32 near Lovell was referred to the Wyoming Highway Patrol. Rattlesnakes were found at the scene. (See related story.)

A wallet was reported lost near the causeway east of Lovell.

May 12: While checking on a vehicle parked on the side of Highway 310, deputies found a man taking a nap in his vehicle.

A group of children riding noisy dirt bikes in a residential area in Deaver were asked to ride somewhere less disturbing to residents.

Tyler Michael Harvey was arrested in Lovell on an outstanding warrant.
