Sheriff’s report: Large heist of diesel fuel reported

The Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office received the following calls for the week of July 1-7:

July 1: Deputies investigated a suspicious vehicle parked at Lovell Middle School. It was an employee who had arrived early to work.

A downed tree that was creating a fire hazard in Byron was referred to the Road and Bridge Dept.

The owner of a vehicle abandoned on Crystal Creek Road near Lovell was contacted and asked to remove the vehicle.

July 2: Deputies responded to a report about a dog chasing children who were riding bicycles in Byron. It was determined that the dog just wanted to play.

Cows were reported blocking the road on Highway 310 near Lovell.

July 3: A complaint about a loose dog creating mischief in Deaver was referred to the town government for ordinance enforcement.

The theft of approximately 1,000 gallons of diesel fuel from a gas station in Lovell is under investigation.

A traffic hazard created by a blown tire was reported on Highway 310 near Lovell.

An individual in Frannie was advised not to continue to contact a relative in another state.

July 4: A group of children caught climbing the water tower in Cowley were asked to not trespass. 

Deputies responded to a verbal dispute between two neighbors in Cowley who were arguing about a dog getting into a chicken coop.

July 5: A trespass order was issued in Deaver.

A dog was reported on the highway near Byron.

July 6: A deputy assisted in removing debris that was creating a hazard on a road near Byron.

Deputies were advised that a vehicle was being repossessed in Byron.

Note: The above calls were received by the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office. Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney.
