Sheriff’s report Vintage bike reported stolen in Frannie
The Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office received the following calls for the week of June 10-16:
June 10: An individual reported losing a carrier containing a chain saw on Highway 14A somewhere between Lovell and Five Springs.
June 11: A missing hiker returned home before a search and rescue team was dispatched to begin a search.
An individual living outside of Lovell reported a scam coming from a telephone number in Nigeria. Deputies advised blocking the caller.
June 12: A vintage bike was reported stolen from a shed in Frannie.
A cattle owner in Frannie reported a possible scam where a buyer sent a check that was supposed to be applied to transportation expenses that did not clear the bank.
Two black pigs were reported missing in Deaver.
Deputies were asked to aid the Carbon County Montana Sheriff’s Department regarding a fuel tank explosion that caused a fire at a wind farm in the Deaver area. The fire was put out by firefighters from Montana before sheriff’s deputies arrived.
Deputies received a report of a vehicle driving on the wrong side of the road in Byron. They were unable to locate the vehicle.
June 13: Deputies investigated a report of a driver who drove through a woven wire fence onto private property. The matter is under investigation.
A dispute in Deaver was determined by deputies to be a civil matter.
June 15: A patron at a local gas station and convenience store complained that he was overcharged on a purchase. The individual was advised that it is a civil matter.
Deputies assisted a driver who was stuck in the mud near John Blue Canyon.
June 16: A Frannie resident complained that a car he sold without a title was returned to his driveway. He was advised that it is a civil matter.
A woman from Billings called to report that she left her purse in a local park in Lovell by mistake. Deputies located the purse, and the woman returned to retrieve the item.
Deputies assisted a motorist who was having car trouble on Highway 310 near Lovell.
