Sheriff report: Byron couple reports threatening messages

The Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office received the following calls for the week of February 9-15:

February 9: 12:34 a.m. – A deputy checked on a vehicle parked along the road at Highway 310 and Road 9. The vehicle was not disabled, and the passengers said they were just talking.

2:06 p.m. – A caller reported a black, silver and red Chevy truck swerving all over the road and speeding just southwest of the Oasis Junction. A deputy followed the vehicle and did not observe a driving pattern that would warrant a stop, and the vehicle, with a juvenile driver, eventually parked at a residence in Lovell.

4:26 p.m. – A man approached a deputy in Byron and stated that he and his fiancée were receiving threatening messages from an untraceable number. He did say he thinks he knows who is sending them and will keep the sheriff’s office informed.

February 10: 1:21 p.m. – A deputy assisted a man in Byron with a telephone number for the Wyoming Highway Patrol records department. The man said he had been involved in a crash in Park County.

February 11: 9:59 p.m. – Deputies assisted the Lovell Police Department with the search for a missing juvenile who had gone missing that day. Similar assistance was given throughout the week.

February 13:  10:39 a.m. – A deputy responded to a REDDI report regarding a semi that was driving erratically about 16 miles south of Lovell on U.S. 310. A deputy made contact, and the driver said he was really tired and planned to sleep after picking up a load at Georgia-Pacific.

11:08 a.m. – A deputy blocked traffic while some Crosby cattle were moved across the highway southeast of Cowley.

1:35 p.m. – An official from the Port of Entry at Frannie called regarding a white semi, but a deputy was unable to locate the truck.

February 14: 8:44 a.m. – A deputy performed a civil standby in Frannie.

9:50 a.m. – The Lovell Police Department reported a possible road rage incident on Lane 12 south of Lovell. A deputy was unable to locate the vehicle.

8:43 p.m. – A deputy pulled a “partial tire” off the highway eight miles south of Lovell on U.S. 310.
