The Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office received the following calls for the week of Nov. 5-10:

4 p.m. – A woman in Byron complained that her daughter and a friend were chased by a large dog near the town park. The case is under investigation.
November 6: 12:57 a.m. – A woman called to report that she had struck a large buck deer just west of the Oasis Junction on U.S. 14A. She said she was not injured in the collision.
5:17 p.m. – A vehicle with no license tags was reported as sitting for about a week alongside Lane 6 between Cowley and Deaver. The vehicle was tagged for removal and was gone the following day.
November 7: 6:09 a.m. – A man reported that his horses had gotten out near Cowley, and he was looking for them. He called about 45 minutes later to say he had found them.
10:56 a.m. – A caller reported that his neighbor’s cows were in his field eating his feed. The owner of the cows was contacted and said he would send somebody to come and get them.
November 8: 7:03 p.m. – A deputy came upon a car parked at the Byron Cemetery on Road 5. The occupants were “star gazing.”
November 9: 11:48 a.m. – A caller reported that he had lost his range finder on the John Blue Canyon Road and wondered if anyone had found such a device. He asked to be contacted if one was turned in.
1:52 p.m. – A caller reported that kids were riding dirt bikes on his ranch on Spence Road southeast of Lovell. The riders from Montana said they thought they were on public land since there were no fences or private property or no trespassing signs at the site. They were riding next to the railroad track.
November 10: 5:22 p.m. – An owner of cows being moved just off the John Blue Canyon Road east of the Big Horn Lake causeway asked if a deputy could check to see if any cows had gotten out onto the highway since the cattle guards at the site were filled with dirt. Deputies checked and didn’t see any cows on the highway at that location.
Five other loose livestock reports were called in during the week.
