Sheriff report: Man arrested after disturbance at restaurant
The Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office received the following calls for the week of January 26-February 1:
January 26: 4:04 p.m. – A caller in Cowley reported that a dog followed her son home from school. She was referred to the Cowley Police Department.
5:32 p.m. – A deputy checked on a parked car on Road 5 near Byron for a possible motorist assist. The driver was merely watching the sunset.
January 27: 7:19 p.m. – A caller said her vehicle was sideswiped while parked on Main Street in Byron. A deputy responded and issued a citation for failure to maintain a lane of travel to Jayden Yates, 24, of Lovell.
January 28: 9:59 p.m. – A deputy stopped to assist at the scene of a broken down semi a mile east of Deaver on U.S. 310. As the truck was inoperable, the company had the truck towed. The driver, Vasudevan Shankaran Udayar, of Fayetteville, N.C., was found to have an arrest warrant out of Uinta County. He was held for that agency.
January 29: 7:38 a.m. – A car slid off the highway a mile west of Cowley. The Wyoming Highway Patrol was advised and responded.
9:24 a.m. – Wilson Brothers Construction advised that Lane 8 near Deaver would be closed until February 1 for the installation of an irrigation pipe.
7:58 p.m. – A caller reported that two vehicles collided between Lovell and the Oasis Junction and left the scene but “left a mess on the highway.” A deputy responded but was not able to locate the vehicles.
January 30: 10:01 a.m. – A caller reported that, while doing accounting work, the caller found a check that had been altered. The case is under investigation.
12:39 p.m. – A caller on South Pryor in Byron reported that kids were spinning their tires and revving their engine near Jones Park. A deputy spoke with a parent, who put a stop to the activity.
8:19 p.m. – A deputy investigated a reported disturbance at the Bull Pub in Cowley. Tuffy Lee Towner Brost, 29, was later arrested for a bond violation and possession of a controlled substance in plant form.
February 1: 7:52 a.m. – A caller reported a deer with a broken leg in their yard on Lane 11½ near Lovell. Wyoming Game and Fish was contacted.
Note: The above calls were received by the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office. Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney.
