Simple acts of kindness
In the gospel of John, chapter 13, verse 34, it says: “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” With Valentine’s Day approaching, the thought crossed my mind of how could Lovell love one another well this year? The answer? How about leaving a love note for your neighbor. (Not in a creepy way!) But what if you took the month of February, typically a month associated with giving and receiving Valentines and instead wrote a simple love note for a random person in the community? Maybe placing this note in a book on the new release shelf at the library … perhaps putting a little note on a random pew or chair at worship. How about a note for your favorite teacher or coach, left on a desk or in the main office, or what about leaving a sticky note on a gasoline pump or an ATM as you leave so the next user can find it? How simple would it be to remind those we live with that they are special and that they are loved. This happens to be a leap year, so we have a whole extra day to send or receive these little “love notes!” Lovell … let’s love-well!
