Stars, Stripes and Freedom Duck Hunt gears community up for Lovell’s Days

Community members have been on the hunt for small, patriotic themed ducks that have been hidden across the town.

Ducks that have been found can be turned in at the Chamber of Commerce office in exchange for a prize. Those who post a selfie with the duck and post it to the Lovell’s Days Facebook page with the hashtag #LovellsDays2026 will receive a larger prize.

The Stars, Stripes and Freedom Duck Hunt was organized by the Lovell’s Days committee in an effort to get the community excited and involved for the upcoming Lovell’s Days and 250^th celebration of the United States. 

“When we first started planning for Lovell’s Days, we wanted to come up with something that would be for all ages and bring the community together,” said Tianne Samson, a member of the Lovell’s Days committee. 

Ducks have been hidden routinely inside of businesses around town. A golden duck also gets hidden once a week, and turning this duck in at the Chamber office offers the biggest prize. 

The event will end after all the ducks have been found and turned in to the chamber office. 

The Lovell’s Days Committee has also organized a coloring contest in coordination with the patriotic theme. The competition offers prizes for winners in three age categories, ages 4-8 years, 9-13 years and 14-adult. Coloring pages can be picked up at the Lovell Library and must be turned in by June 19 for judging.

“We hope that people will get out and gear up for the upcoming celebration,” Samson said.
