Stella Mae Osborne Blohm

Stella Mae Osborne Blohm

June 28, 1932 – June 16, 2021

Stella Mae Osborne Blohm, 88, died June 16, 2021.

She was born June 28, 1932, at home in Garland to Edward and Lillie Richards Osborne. She was the oldest of five children.

Mae spent her childhood on the family farm in Garland. She had fond memories of the apple orchards there. Another fond memory was when her father, Ed, took a job as foreman of a sawmill on Carter Mountain for a short time.

She loved that time there in a one-room school house. Later Mae would return to Garland and attend Powell High School. She was a 1951 graduate of Powell High School. She also attended college at Northwest Community College while working as a telephone operator.

Mae was briefly married to David Malliot, and daughter Connie was born. A few years later, she married Louie Blohm in 1962. Julie joined the little family a few years later.

She worked at Dude’s Cafe in Lovell, and very much enjoyed being a waitress. She took great pride in her customer service.

Mae and Louie raised their family in Cowley. Mae had a big heart and often took care of other children. She loved her nephews, Shawn and Richard, and niece Kayla. Her grandchildren have loving memories of their time at Grandma Blohm’s house.

Mae was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She and Louie

were sealed in the Salt Lake Utah Temple.

Mae and Louie were most often remembered together, riding to town in their red pickup. They spent their retirement years helping others with rides and doing acts of service. They enjoyed their time at the Lovell Senior Citizens Center and were a fixture there until their health declined. For a time, they both were in the New Horizons Care Center in Lovell and were able to spend their last days together.

Louie preceded Mae in death last November in 2020. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Lavonne, Donna, Cliff and Nell.

Mae is survived by her two daughters, Connie (Greg) James of Newcastle, Wyoming, and Julie (Kent) Stingley of Powell; sisters-in-law Barbara Osborne of Billings, Edna Lucera of Stockton, California, Lavern Clark of Yakima, Washington, Lois Bernhardt of Laurel and Sally Blohm of Laurel; brother-in-law Ray Blohm of Laurel; many nieces and nephews; and eight grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Her legacy of a big heart will be remembered by many.

A funeral service for Mae will be held Saturday, June 26, at 2 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Cowley.
