Strong outing for LHS golf teams in Cody
The Lovell High School girls and boys golf teams had another successful tournament on Friday, May 3, in Cody.
Despite of the colder temperatures and strong wind, coach Dane Robertson was pleased to see the lower individual scores.
Erika Cook continued her dominance for the girls by shooting a 67 on the course to win by a margin of 12 strokes.
Madison Wolvington finished at 97 to place 14th at the event with Kenley Wilson at 22nd, shooting 111.
Kenadee Rael was right behind after a 114 performance, and Caitlyn Allen ended the day at 136.
For the boys, Max Cooley broke into the top 10 overall, shooting an 83 to finish ninth.
Brandon Burns also had a solid day, finishing 13th with a score of 85.
Matthew Allen rounded off the event with 93, Branton Moore 107 and James Blau 109.
In the team scores, the Lovell girls finished third with a combined score of 275 behind Sheridan and Riverton.
The boys team landed in sixth as a group.
“It was extremely cold and windy in Cody, so to see some lower scores on the day was pretty awesome,” Robertson said.
The teams will travel to Lander on Friday, May 10, for the final tournament of the spring season.
