Three Big Horn Basin teens honored as Tom Easterly Memorial Award recipients

Clay Petersen and Dakoby Bentley of Greybull and Jacob Thomas of Lovell are this year’s recipients of the Tom Easterly Memorial Award. Each earned a Lifetime Wyoming Game Bird/Small Game and Conservation Stamp, valued at approximately $500.
The awards honor the former Greybull-based wildlife biologist’s personal and professional interest in upland
game bird management, game bird hunting and hunter recruitment. He died in 2014
Bill Easterly, Tom’s brother, and Sam Stephens, the Greybull district’s current wildlife biologist, presented the awards Saturday afternoon in Greybull. Eleven teens from the Big Horn Basin applied for the awards this year.  All of them were strong candidates, Easterly said.
Stephens praised the three award recipients for the way they weaved the topic of conservation into their essays.
