Jayden Tippetts, a 2023 graduate of Lovell High School and the son of Jamey and Mindy Tippetts, recently returned home after serving in the Tijuana Mexico Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His time in Mexico, he said, was filled with experiences that taught him lasting lessons about faith, character and connection.

“During my time in Mexico, I’ve learned some truly meaningful lessons that I know will stay with me for the rest of my life,” Tippetts said. “One of the most important has been diligence. No matter how each day unfolded, I had to get up and keep going.”

He said his mission also taught him to look beyond stereotypes and see people as individuals.

“Everyone we meet is unique,” he said. “Once we let go of assumptions and truly love people for who they are, our relationships grow deeper and more meaningful.”

Jayden said the experience helped him develop greater charity and humility.

“Being selfless and willing to learn has helped me grow,” he said. “When we’re humble, we open the door to learning and transformation.”

Tippetts expressed gratitude for the people of Mexico and the lessons he’ll carry forward as he begins a new chapter at home. He plans to attend Utah State University to pursue a degree in business finance.
