Valentine's Tales: Tammy and Kurt Wheeler

I lived in Laurel, Montana. Tammy lived in Belgrade, Montana, and was going to school in Provo, Utah. We met through Tammy’s grandparents and my mom. We worked in the same place and thought that we should get to know each other. We started out messaging on Facebook because Tammy was in Utah going to school.

Our first date was over Thanksgiving, since she was going to school in Utah and was home in Montana for the holiday. We had hot chocolate at the Borders bookstore, lunch at Red Lobster and took a tour through Moss Mansion.

I proposed on Peets Hill in Bozeman, Montana. We took a hike through a park and at the top of Peets Hill I proposed. The hill happened to be a sledding hill where we had one of our dates in the winter. It wasn’t easy to get some privacy because it was such a popular hiking spot.

We got married in 2011 in Billings and have been married for 14 years. We have four kids.
