Victoria Irene (Tunstall) Sidener

Oct. 13, 1931- May 21, 2025

Victoria Irene Tunstall was born to Clay and Dorothy Tunstall on Oct. 13, 1931 in Santa Rosa, Calif. She graduated from 29 Palms High School as valedictorian in 1949. She married William “Bill” Downing in 1950. To this marriage were born son John and daughters Barbara and Vickie. The couple divorced in 1967.

Victoria married Gene Sidener in 1968, and they were married 42 years until Gene’s death in 2010. The family moved to Jackson, Wyo., in 1969. While in Jackson, Victoria worked alongside her husband in the many businesses they ran. In 1987, they relocated to Ennis, Mont., and in 2006, to Reno, Nevada.

In 2023, Victoria moved to Basin, Wyo., to be closer to her daughter Barb. She immediately got involved in the church and Eastern Star. She enjoyed small town living and found joy in her daily walks around town. Any place she and Gene lived, both served their community in various capacities. Victoria was a crafter, knitting, crocheting, and quilting for family and friends. She was known for never forgetting a birthday. Victoria was proud to be able to complete her associate’s degree in history at age 72! Victoria was a 73-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, served as Worthy Matron twice, Grand Representative of Wyoming in Nevada, and Grand Chaplain in Nevada.

Victoria is survived by her children: John (Pat) of Valley Center, Calif.; Barb (Gene) Grose of Basin, Wyo.; Vickie (Ted) Stutzman of Reno, Nevada; stepsons Phil (Maureen) Sidener of Las Vegas, Bill Sidener of Chico, Calif., and Jim Sidener of Indianapolis, Ind. Also grandchildren Leonard, James, John, T. Eric, and Elizabeth; Gene’s granddaughters Phyllis, Courtney and Whitney; seven great-grandchildren and one on the way; her sisters Midge and Lisa, and brother Fred (Carole), many nieces and nephews, and dear friends.

Her parents as well as her siblings Leanore, Madeline and Bob predeceased her.

Victoria looked forward to the day she would be with her Lord and her loved ones who had gone before. She entered into that rest May 21, 2025.
