Whitney and Jacob Haslem

We met on a blind date while I was in California doing summer pest control sales in May of 2006. We quickly fell in love and got married in the St. George Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints October 9, 2006.

The proposal was pretty ordinary I’m afraid. Once I decided I was going to do it, I asked her father’s permission and proposed the next day. I took her to the Oakland Temple blindfolded and then walked her to a spot I liked and got down on one knee.

We are opposites in many aspects but are tightly bound together by a shared sense of humor, strong faith and family values. Eighteen years of marriage have passed in a flash and produced four wonderful boys whom we cherish. Still madly in love, and the future looks bright.
