The Lovell High School golf teams traveled to Worland last week for their competition.

For the girls, Kenley Wilson shot a 95 on day one and 92 on day two for a total of 187 to finish seventh.

“She did exceptionally well,” head coach Dane Robertson said. “She shot her personal best on Thursday and then shot even better on Friday to take seventh in a really good girls section.”

Madalyn McCollam ended with a score of 220 after shooting 111 on the first day and 109 the following day.

On the boys side, Matthew Allen was the top finisher with a total of 169, shooting an 86 and an 83 to tie for 18th place.

“Matthew shot a personal best, as well, on day two,” Robertson said. “He’s progressing downward toward the 70s, which has been a goal of his.”

James Blau shot 191 overall with 94 and 97 in each round while Jacob Thomas wasn’t far behind at 196 after shooting 101 and 95.

Branton Moore’s final score was 205 after combining 94 and 111 rounds, while Cove Jolley had 214 with scores of 112 and 102.

The boys team took ninth overall with a team score of 754 for both days.

Two days in Thermop

After conflicting schedules at the golf course with a middle school cross country meet, both days of the Cats and Dogs Tournament this week will be held in Thermopolis instead of one day there and one in Lovell at Foster Gulch.

“This week is it for regular season, and then it is on to Conference and State, so we are hoping for a good showing to get us ready,” Robertson said.
