Winter survival skills presentations planned in Greybull and Lovell at senior centers

University of Wyoming Extension educator Melissa Cook and therapist Becky Myers are planning presentations in three Big Horn County communities this month that cover essential topics to ensure safety, well-being and happiness this winter.
Open to everyone, the first presentation was held Wednesday, Jan. 3, at the Burlington Fire Hall, and two more are planned for  January 17 from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. at the South Big Horn Senior Center in Greybull and Friday, Jan. 19, from 12:15 to 1 p.m. at the North Big Horn Senior Center in Lovell.
Cook and Myers will help people drive winter roads more confidently with reminders for winter-ready vehicles, essential items for a car and strategies for staying safe on the roads — including when to stay home.
The presenters will uncover the secrets to staying warm and healthy in and outside the home amid Wyoming’s winter wonderland.
The presentation will also provide tips to help fend off loneliness and isolation and turn the winter months into a time of joy and happiness.
