Sponsored by North Big Horn Hospital District
North Big Horn Hospital invites you to a community meeting designed specifically for their patients, to be held on November 12, 2013 at 6:00pm at the Lovell Community Center. You may be one of the 83,000 people in Wyoming who struggle to pay their medical bills because you don't have health insurance through your job, or you are not eligible for Medicare, Medicaid or Veteran's Benefits. The Marketplace is a very new way to buy insurance and, like everything new, it can be confusing. Simply put, the Marketplace operates like any well-known on-line shopping site (for books, music, hotels, etc.). This on-line shopping site is only for insurance. At the Marketplace, private Wyoming-based insurance companies compete for your business. You will be able to pick how much insurance you want, and how much you want to pay for it.Wyoming's Department of Insurance and the Marketplace will make sure that the insurance companies operate fairly and under strict rules. They have to offer everyone insurance, even if they are sick and they won't be able to charge more for pre-existing conditions. Men and women will pay the same price. Prices for older people will come down. To keep prices down for young people, they will be able to stay on their parents insurance until age 26- and then can buy low-cost catastrophic plans until they reach age 30.Plans offered to you on the Marketplace will cover most anything any of us need when it comes to taking care of our health: hospital visits; doctor visits; maternity care; mental health care;prescription medications.Another big advantage, available only through the Marketplace, is that our federal funding partner will provide most people with a tax credit to make health insurance more affordable if your income is below a certain level. Most people buying insurance on their own will qualify and won't have to pay the whole premium themselves.
What to Bring: Birth Dates; Social Security numbers (or document numbers for legal immigrants); Pay Stubs,W-2 forms, or "Wage and Tax Statements;" Policy numbers for any current health insurance. Information about any health insurance you or your family could get from your jobs.Know who your preferred healthcare doctors or clinics are.
