Yellowtail Wildlife Habitat Management Area seeks help with fence removal

Wyoming Game and Fish and local volunteers plan to remove unneeded fences in various states of disrepair in the Yellowtail Wildlife Habitat Management Area east of Lovell.

The area is popular for hunting and other recreation, and the fences pose a hazard to dogs, wildlife and visitors, according to the Game and Fish.

Fence removal is planned for Saturday, July 19. If individuals or groups are interested in helping, they are to meet at the Yellowtail WMHA headquarters at 8 a.m.

Two skid steers with wire winders will be employed. Volunteers are needed to pull staples so the wire can be spooled up. Individuals should bring fencing pliers, a hammer, safety gear including gloves and eye protection, long sleeve shirt, boots, water and snacks.
