Solon Wells Robison

Solon Wells Robison, 93, died Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011, at Dixie Regional Medical Center, St. George, Utah. He was born June 15, 1918, in Byron to Joseph Ray and Lucy Johnson Robison.[caption id="attachment_2431" align="alignright" width="190" caption="Solon Wells Robison"][/caption]Solon was raised and educated in Big Horn Basin. He married Marjorie Louis Basnett on Sept. 15, 1940, in Polson, Mont. They were married for more than 70 years. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple on August 4, 1990.He was an aviary mechanic for the Air Corps during World War II. He spent a short time in Montana and then located in Lovell where he raised his family.In 1947, he opened the meat packing plant in Lovell. After selling the business, he worked as a park ranger for the National Park Service for 15 years. He loved horses and was involved in several aspects of the horse racing industry including breeding, training and racing.Solon is survived by his son Craig (Beverly) Robison of Cody and daughter Cheryl Ann Williams of Beaver Dam, Ariz. Additionally, Solon had the opportunity to enjoy seven grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
