Lovell freshmen clobber Cody

The Lovell Bulldogs opened the freshman season Tuesday at Winterholler Gym with a strong win over the visiting Cody Broncs, 51-27.

Lovell came out strong and led 12-5 after the first quarter, then shut out the Broncs 17-0 in the second quarter to lead 29-5 at halftime. Each team scored 22 points in the second half.

Kannon Owens led the Bulldogs with 17 points, 14 in the dominant first half, and Weston Hendershot added 10, Michael Cornia 6, Mac Morgan 5, Aaiden Walker and Tejeo Scheeler 4 apiece, Easton Morgan and Taysen Yates 2 each and Dallin Bischoff 1.

The Lovell frosh have added a game at Thermopolis today (Thursday) at 6:30 p.m. ahead of the holiday break.

The freshman girls game against Cody was cancelled due to a flu outbreak on the Cody squad.
