Three local swimmers competing with Powell boys

The Powell High School boys swim team has kicked off their season with two opening invites. The Powell team has three swimmers from North Big Horn County swimming for them: Will Fuller, Hugh Carpenter and Gabriel Buchholz. 

On December 12, the swimmers competed at a quad in Powell. Carpenter placed second in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:17.28 and first in the 100-yard free with a time of 52.93. Fuller took first in the 50-yard free with a time of 23.90 and third in the 100-yard back in 1:09.08. Buchholz placed sixth in the 100-yard fly with a time of 1:13.01 and third in the 100-yard breast at 1:23.35.  Carpenter qualified for State in the 200-yard IM and the 100-yard free, and Fuller qualifed in the 50-yard free.

On December 13, the team traveled to Cody for the Cody Pentathlon. Carpenter placed third in the 100-yard fly with a time of 58.56, sixth in the 100-yard back, sixth in the 50-yard free, eighth in the 100-yard breast and second in the 100-yard free with a time of 53.28. Fuller place eighth in the 100-yard back and seventh in the 50-yard free.

During this meet Carpenter qualified for State in the 100-yard back, 100-yard breast and 100-yard fly. Fuller qualified in the 100-yard free, 100-yard back, 100-yard breast and 100-yard fly.
