Local swimmers compete in Buffalo

This past week the Powell boys swimming team competed in one event, the Buffalo Pre-Invite. During this meet there were several placers from Powell, including North Big Horn County swimmers.

Senior Hugh Carpenter placed first in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 53.02. Senior Will Fuller placed first in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:04.06, eighth in the 200-yard IM in 1:04.40 and 13th in the 100-yard freestyle at 1:04.40.

Junior Gabe Buchholz placed third in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:11.02 and third in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:10.15. Sophomore Ethan Haslem placed eighth in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:31.50, and 28th in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:19.91.

There were no new state qualifiers this week.
