Sheriff’s report: REDDI report may just be poor driver
The Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office received the following calls for the week of April 7-12:
April 7: 9:17 a.m. – A caller on Lane 11½ near Lovell complained about a barking dog, but there is no ordinance regarding dogs outside of the town limits.
7:36 p.m. – A REDDI call was referred by the Lovell Police Department. A deputy was unable to locate the vehicle but recognized the car from the description given and believed the case was simply one of an older person not driving well.
April 8: 3:43 p.m. – A REDDI report was called in for a blue SUV “all over the road” about a mile west of Byron. Both a deputy and a Wyoming Highway Patrol trooper followed the vehicle, and no violation was observed.
April 9: 3:32 p.m. – A Byron resident stopped to talk to a deputy parked on Main Street and complained about a certain driver continually stopping at a stop sign near her house and spinning gravel while driving off. The complaining party was asked to obtain a license plate number.
4:09 p.m. – A deputy assisted at the scene of a car fire at the Bair Trailer Court in Lovell.
4:43 p.m. – A deputy stopped to check on a driver changing a flat tire. When the deputy stopped, the task was nearly completed.
April 10: 4:19 p.m. – A dispute erupted in Byron between a weed spraying company and a resident. The former owner of the property had a contract with a spraying company, but the new owner didn’t know anything about it and didn’t want to pay when the property was sprayed. The parties will attempt to work it out civilly.
6:58 p.m. – A citizen in Byron complained about loud music in the neighborhood. A deputy responded and could not hear anything, plus the call came in well before 10 p.m., which is the hour when the volume would be required to be lowered under town ordinance.
April 11: 5:33 p.m. – A deputy assisted the Lovell Police Department with a welfare check at Rose City West.
April 12: 12:57 p.m. -- A deputy assisted Lovell police with a family dispute on East Eighth Street in Lovell.
Note: The above calls were received by the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office. Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney.
