Carl Emery Voss, 87, passed away June 4, 2026, at New Horizons Care Center in Lovell due to Alzheimer’s/Dementia.
Carl was born in Plains, Montana, on January 22, 1939, to Herman John Voss and Ruby Elizabeth Girton. He was the youngest of five children born to this union.
Carl enjoyed his early years living on a ranch and attending school in Plains. He shared many memories of his time growing up in the great outdoors.
At the age of 17, his father gave permission for Carl to join the Air Force. He served his country honorably for 20 years.
After his retirement from the Air Force, he continued to work for various construction companies in the Salt Lake City, Utah, area. It was during this time that he met and married Gaylene Stokes. They were later sealed in the Mesa Arizona Temple. In their later years they retired to Sun City, Arizona.
After Gaylene’s death, Carl met and married Nola Doty Christoffersen, who had also lost her spouse. Together Carl and Nola enjoyed traveling the world. They served as temple workers in the Mesa Arizona Temple and enjoyed spending time with friends and family.
As Carl’s health declined, he and Nola moved to Byron to live with Nola’s daughter and son-in law, Julie and Ed Riding.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, brothers John and Walter, sister Margaret Woehler, wife Gaylene and wife Nola.
He is survived by his sister Rosalie Colombini.
