Police Report: Intoxicated man knocks himself out at local bar

The Lovell Police Department received the following calls for the week of June 29 – July 5:

June 29: 3:02 a.m. – Allegations were made by an anonymous caller of an adult taking advantage of a minor. Since the call was anonymous, the allegations could not be confirmed, and there was not enough information given to investigate any alleged wrongdoing.

3:35 p.m. – Officers were called to a local motel regarding a guest that refused to vacate a room. They found the individual was impaired and waiting for a safe ride to take him to his next destination. Eventually the ride arrived, and he vacated the room.

5:21 p.m.- A call regarding harassment turned out to be a very loud argument between a mother and daughter.

6:10 p.m. – A neighbor called police to document a noise disturbance that included a very loud argument at a neighbor’s house that included a great deal of profanity.

June 30: 11:02 a.m. – Suspicious activity was reported at Rose City West. An officer investigated and found no crime had been committed.

3:51 p.m. – Two loose dogs were reunited with their owner.

July 1: 12:37 a.m. – A minor fender bender occurred in the North Big Horn Hospital parking lot. No citations were issued.

6:35 a.m. – A REDDI report was received about a vehicle driving erratically on highway 14A. Since the incident did not take place in the Lovell Police Department’s jurisdiction, the report was transferred to the sheriff’s department.

8:58  a.m. – A loose Australian Shepherd was reported to police, but they were unable to locate the animal.

11:55 a.m. – A lost kitten was found and later returned to its owner.

2:39 p.m. – Violation of a state issued criminal trespass order was reported to local police, who referred it to the proper authorities for investigation.

July 2: 11:50 a.m. – Officers responded to a very loud domestic altercation between a mother and a daughter. No arrests were made.

10:06 p.m. – A report was received regarding a noisy group of kids playing on the softball field after hours. When officers arrived, the youth were in the process of leaving the park.

July 3: Police responded to numerous fireworks complaints.

9:20 p.m. – Officers responded to a shoplifting incident. The individual was no longer on the scene when they arrived.

July 4: Officers responded to a call about an intoxicated man who fell on his face and appeared to be unconscious on the ground. By the time police arrived, the man had regained consciousness. 

11 a.m. A scooter driven recklessly by a youth crashed into a truck. The young person’s mother was called to the scene, and the driver of the truck opted not to press charges. There were no injuries resulting from the crash.

9:28 p.m. – Officers were alerted to the fact that fireworks debris was falling on a local residence.

12:03 p.m. – Police received numerous calls regarding incidents involving fireworks. None of the cases resulted in injuries and no laws were broken, since it is legal to use fireworks on the Fourth of July.

July 5: Police received a report about two girls arguing at a gas station. It turned out the two were sisters, and one was trying to take the car keys away from the other because she felt her sister was too impaired to drive. The allegedly impaired driver headed toward Powell before Lovell police officers arrived. Officers called ahead to Park County authorities, where the alleged impaired driver was intercepted by law enforcement in that jurisdiction and arrested for driving under the influence.
