David B. Stanley

April 4, 1941 – Aug. 27, 2026

David B. Stanley, 85, of Lovell passed away August 27, 2026, in the Cody Regional Health Long Term Care Center.

David was born on April 4, 1941, in Deadwood, South Dakota, to Harold and Barbara Stanley. David and his family moved to Lovell when he was 5 years old. He grew up and attended schools in Lovell. In 1964, he married Janice Laufman, and they had two children, Craig and Cory.

David worked at the Great Western/Western Sugar factory for 43 years, retiring as warehouse foreman at age 62. He also worked part-time at Minchow’s Service Station for a few years. Beyond work, he loved working on cars, helping others, fishing and spending time with friends. 

David was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Barbara, and older brothers Don, Jim and Ken.

He is survived by his wife, Janice, sons Craig and Cory and grandson Keyan.

According to David’s wishes, no memorial service will be held. Burial will take place privately in the Lovell Cemetery.
