LHS celebrates Superheroes for Homecoming Week
Superheroes is the theme of the 2026 Homecoming celebration at Lovell High School, to be capped by the Homecoming football game against Thermopolis on Friday, Sept. 25.
Monday is an in-service day with no school, but the Buff Puff volleyball game will be held that night at 7 p.m. in Winterholler Gym.
Tuesday is the first dress-up day: Class Color Day with seniors wearing black, juniors yellow, sophomores pink and freshmen green. The annual senior class chili and cinnamon roll dinner will be held from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at the high school cafeteria/lobby. A cup of chili costs $3, and a cinnamon roll costs $4. A combination costs $6.
The Homecoming pep rally follows at 7 p.m. at the high school gym.
Wednesday is Wrong Occasion Day, with students asked to wear clothing as if they showed wearing the wrong garb for a particular event.
Thursday is Bikers vs. Surfers Day.
Friday is Blue and White Day, and the Homecoming parade will be held at 11:20 a.m. The parade will start at the high school and proceed east on Park Avenue to Shoshone Avenue, south past the elementary school around 11:35 a.m. to Ninth Street, then west to the middle school around 11:50 a.m.
Sporting events during the week include the volleyball playing in Worland Thursday at 4, 5 and 6 p.m., the cross country team running in Worland Friday at 2 p.m. and the football game with Thermopolis that evening at 6.
A bonfire will follow the football game Friday south of the football field in the parking area – for students only.
The Homecoming dance will be held Saturday from 8:30 to 11 p.m. at the high school multipurpose room at a cost of $5 per single or $8 for a couple.
