Sheriff report: Man arrested after harassment call
The Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office received the following calls for the week of September 14-20:
September 14: 8:50 a.m. – A call from East Lane regarding a “sick looking mule deer” was referred to Wyoming Game and Fish.
7 p.m. – A report of harassment at Club Dauntless and a subsequent search for a man near a canal at Frog Rock led to the arrest of Timothy Wayne Hall, formerly of Lovell and now of North Dakota, on charges of possession of a controlled substance in plant form and interference with a police officer.
September 15: 7:02 a.m. – A caller reported that a vehicle had been parked with its rear hatch open since the previous day. A deputy and Cowley police officer responded but were unable to find anyone at the property on South Division.
2:08 p.m. – A caller inquired about her car that was in the possession of Burnham Towing. She was informed that it is a civil matter.
September 16: 5:34 p.m. – A call regarding a possible case of larceny in Cowley on South First East was referred to the Cowley Police officer.
September 17 – 1:33 p.m. – A worried caller reported a white truck driving around her house. A deputy was unable to locate the vehicle.
9:31 p.m. – A caller complained of a black Chevy Impala speeding up and down West Second North in Cowley near the rodeo grounds. No deputy was in position to respond to the call.
9:39 p.m. – Deputies assisted at the scene of a fire on U.S. Highway 14A East and Road 13.
September 18: 11:58 a.m. – The Town of Byron reported missing two stop signs and two speed limit signs, needing to document the missing items for insurance.
2:11 p.m. – A caller reported that her father had been the victim of a scam when a caller posed as a representative of Apple security.
4:27 p.m. – A truck driver at Wyo-Ben reported shots fired in the area. It turned out to be someone shooting for target practice, and the shots were not in the direction of the plant.
6:15 p.m. – A citizen called dispatch to let the sheriff’s office know that they had left a vehicle parked about three miles west of Byron but that they would retrieve the vehicle when they could return with a spare tire.
September 19: 3:25 p.m. – A caller reported hitting a deer the previous night on Wyoming 32 south of Lovell. The car suffered extensive front end damage, and the caller wished to document the collision for insurance purposes.
September 20: 3:10 p.m. – A caller reported that a vehicle had been parked on U.S. 14A East atop the Big Horns near Bald Mountain for several days. The Wyoming Highway Patrol tagged the vehicle for towing.
7:17 p.m. – A semi slid off the road near American Colloid/CETCO on Highway 37 east of Lovell. There was no road blockage, and the trucking company planned to deal with the situation in the morning.
Note: The above calls were received by the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office. Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney.
