Police report: Car busts through fence on Circle Drive
The Lovell Police Department received the following calls for the week of September 21-27:
September 21: 9:04 a.m. – A citizen brought in a dog found near Lovell to see if the dog was chipped. The dog did not have a chip, so the citizen took the dog to seek the owner on Facebook.
5:19 p.m. – The Lovell Volunteer Fire Department performed structure fire training east of Lovell on Road 15.
5:42 p.m. – The Powell Police Department referred a call regarding a 2- to 3-year-old child riding unrestrained in the rear seat of a white Honda heading east from Powell. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.
September 22: 5:10 a.m. – Three callers reported that a vehicle had run through a brick and wood fence on Circle Drive in Lovell. When an officer responded, a 2005 Toyota Tacoma was discovered at the scene. Also on scene were the driver, homeowner, the Lovell Volunteer Fire Department and a North Big Horn Hospital ambulance. An officer determined the driver to be intoxicated and arrested Mason Sterling Brinkerhoff for DUI.
8:10 p.m. – A caller reported teenagers yelling and harassing others in front of Lovell High School. An officer responded and found two groups of teens arguing and yelling. There was no physical altercation. The officer advised the youths to move along and contacted their parents.
September 23: 7:19 a.m. – A customer at the Mustang Café found a dark liquid on his truck when he emerged from the restaurant. The incident is under investigation.
3:04 p.m. – An officer investigated a minor crash at Park and Jersey when a driver didn’t see a vehicle while turning and tapped the rear end the another car. The driver of the second vehicle was given a warning for failure to yield.
5:04 p.m. – An employee at Lovell Drug asked for help removing a bat from inside the store. The animal control officer responded with a netted pole and was able to remove the bat and release it outside.
September 24: 11:16 p.m. – A caller at the Lovell Apartments on Montana Avenue reported a dog barking for the past hour. An officer responded and was unable to hear the dog.
September 26: 1:54 a.m. – An officer found a cooler in the middle of the road at East Second and Big Horn. The cooler was placed in lost and found at the police station.
6:24 p.m. – An officer responded to a report of kids throwing rocks at a parked vehicle near Successful Gardens behind West Second Street. The officer found an old beet haul truck with a broken window and spoke with kids, who admitted throwing rocks at the old truck. The owner listed on the registration has died, and the officer is attempting to establish ownership.
10:41 p.m. – After a request for a courtesy ride from a patient at North Big Horn Hospital, an officer gave the person a ride to her home.
September 27: 5:35 p.m. – The Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office advised that a male had left the Byron Bar intoxicated and was heading toward Lovell. An officer was unable to locate the vehicle.
Note: The above calls were received by the Lovell Police Department. Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and charges made upon initial arrest may be amended or dismissed as determined by the County Attorney.
