Bulldogs crush Kemmerer to move closer to playoff berth

The Lovell Bulldogs took a huge step toward qualifying for the Class 2A playoffs by manhandling the Kemmerer Rangers at home Friday evening, 50-0.

The win improves the Bulldogs to 5-2 on the season, 3-2 in the 2A West. A win against Thermopolis this Friday would seal a playoff berth for the Bulldogs.

Lovell harriers run well at Conference on challenging course

After a one-day delay, the Lovell High School cross country team ran at the Five Rivers Conference/2A West Regional cross country meet at Wyoming Indian High School in Ethete Friday, and coach Caleb Sanders was pleased with how his team performed.

The Rocky Mountain cross country team tuned up for the state meet Friday by traveling to Ethete for the Five Rivers Conference/2A West Regional meet hosted by Fort Washakie High School but run on the Wyoming Indian High School course.

Swimmers to conference this weekend

Miles and miles of driving, miles and miles watching that black stripe in the pool go by, some days fast, some slow. The high school swim season is short on the calendar, but when you count up the miles on the road and in the pool, it stretches out.

Lovell JV netters sweep Thermop, Worland

The Lovell High School junior varsity volleyball team – JV1 -- had another successful week on the court last Thursday and Friday, sweeping Thermopolis and Worland.

In their final home contest Thursday, the Lady Bulldogs beat Thermop 25-9, 25-14.

Victory elusive for improving Lady Grizz

The Lady Grizz volleyball squad put a lot of pieces together this week but were unable to come away with a victory after two hard-fought matches.

The two losses now place the team at 10-14-3.

The Lady Grizz took 3A school Worland to four sets on October 12.

Rocky falls 42-20 in exhibition game

The Rocky Mountain football team found themselves face to face with a Cody sophomores team ready to stick it to them in a 42-20 defeat Thursday, October 12.

The week counts as a win regardless, with St. Stephen’s forfeiting their scheduled game against the Grizz this week. The team now stands at a record of 5-2.

Lady Bulldogs continue slide with losses

The Lovell Lady Bulldog volleyball team is attempting to pull out of a late-season tailspin, and despite their best efforts, a monthlong losing streak continued last week in matches at home and in Worland.

The Lovell netters have now lost six straight matches following a 3-1 win over Greybull on September 19.
